Bridget’s pregnancy has definitely had an impact on Zachary’s life ever since he found out about her pregnancy at the end of He Was Not There. I knew it was an area that would have to be explored further. And of course, things could not just go smoothly for either Bridget or Zachary.

But I didn’t know just what issues might come into play until I started to map out a plot for She Was At Risk.

Meanwhile, readers were not happy with the way that Bridget has treated Zachary throughout the series, some sweet readers even suggesting that it wouldn’t hurt their feelings if she turned out to be a murder victim in a later volume.  I had both of these issues in mind as I worked out what might happen in Zachary’s next case, knowing that Bridget and Zachary’s relationship was going to come to the forefront yet again.
