I just finished reading The Unlikely Hero of Room 13B by Teresa Toten, an author I don’t think I have read before. What a great book! Toten writes about Adam Spencer Ross, a teen battling OCD, and his family and group relationships as well as the girl in group that he falls in love with and vows to “save.”

The “default” is still white main characters, but the call for more diverse characters is louder and more insistent, and authors are stepping up to fill the gap.
