I am almost finished reading The Chain by Adrian McKinty. A fascinating read, lots of suspense and thrills! It is not just a kidnap thriller, there is so much more to it.

This isn’t my first time reading The Chemist, by Stephanie Meyer, but I don’t remember a lot of it from the first time, and I am enjoying it quite a bit. I didn’t remember there were so many great tongue-in-cheek comments and dry humour. Alex is a great character and there is a lot of… chemistry… between her and Kevin.

I am reading a new (to me) James Patterson, Unsolved. The great thing about James Patterson is there is always a new one out! Unsolved is the second in the Invisible series. Emmy Dockery is looking for a serial killer, but no one will even believe that the victims have been murdered. They think that she’s gone off the rails.

(Book #10) Zachary has done his very best to let go of ex-wife Bridget and relegate their relationship to the past. So when her current partner comes to him for help, he is understandably hesitant to help.
But Gordon has always been a stand-up guy and done right by Zachary, so he reluctantly lets himself be talked once more into helping Bridget and Gordon. Zachary struggles with obsessions and self-doubt at the best of times, and this is a case that could break him.
(Book #9) When Ben Burton hired Zachary Goldman to help him to find the house he lived in before he was adopted, Zachary had no idea it would turn into a murder case.
But as Ben’s fragmented memories start to fall into place, Zachary is driven to right past wrongs and bring the perpetrator to justice.
But Ben is not the only one who remembers what happened.
(Book #8) A missing girl.
Her confused family and friends don’t know what to think about her disappearance.
The police will only put so many resources into the search for a missing teen. They don’t have time and money to spend on runaways and voluntaries. But that doesn’t mean no one cares.
I’m very excited to have my new audiobook out. It’s been a long time since I had audio produced, but I have jumped back in with Virtually Harmless. Melissa Kay Benson was a dream to work with, and I really love her production of Virtually Harmless. Her voices are so close to the voices in my head, and she nails all of the sarcasm and humour, making me laugh at my own jokes.

I have just started After Anna by Lisa Scottoline. Scottoline writes some amazing plots. In this book, there are two point of views, Maggie’s, which is running forward in time from when she meets Anna and Noah’s, which is running backward in time from the point at which his verdict will be read. At some point they will intersect, and I will have the full story. Or almost. Maybe. Being able to tell two stories from two different viewpoints and reveal the plot points in just the right order is an amazing talent.

I’ve had some comments from readers of the Reg Rawlins Psychic Investigator series who express disgust or frustration with Reg for having anything to do with Corvin Hunter after becoming aware that he is a predator, and one who has repeatedly made promises that he hasn’t kept. I thought maybe this would be a good opportunity to open up a discussion about why those who are abused stay with their abusers for so long. Why don’t they just leave?
