Yes, every year on November 1st, thousands of writers around the world begin writing a new book for National Novel Writing Month. The goal is to write a 50,000 word novel during November. There are write-ins and chats and buddies for support. Scary but not Spooky Books for Halloween Readers

People love Halloween. Well, some people love Halloween. Some people hate it. On the one hand, there are boxes of fun-sized chocolate bars and an excuse to pull that old costume (you know the one) out of your closet for one last crazy fling. But on the other hand, there are yards full of crazy death-oriented decorations, weird episodes of your favourite TV series, and children knocking on your door or ringing your doorbell nonstop, letting in all the cold air.
