The 13th installment in the Zachary Goldman Mysteries series is a suspenseful tale that will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotion as you feverishly flip through the pages. If you like suspenseful, unpredictable novels with imperfect characters and twists at every turn then this is the book for you.
They Came for Him can be read as a stand alone detective mystery or together with the rest of the series.

Junior Bender is a burglar, not a private investigator, so maybe I can’t properly classify it as hard-boiled or noir. But the atmosphere and the colorful language and descriptions are as familiar as any Sam Spade. The characters are colourful, fun, and described well. This twisty little mystery is a great read so far, I will definitely read more of the series.

I didn’t realize until I just looked over the series page now that the author is Robert Galbraith—I recognized the name but didn’t remember that’s J.K. Rowling’s pen name. I have also read book four in this series, but don’t remember very much about it.

Racing the Devil is no exception, and I am interested in seeing how this one turns out!
