It has been a long time since I read any of Lilian Jackson Braun’s “The Cat Who…” series, so I am enjoying a return to the series with The Cat Who Blew the Whistle. I haven’t read all of the books in this series, but I couldn’t tell you which ones I have or haven’t read. Enough that I know the main characters, and that coming back to the series is a bit like returning home.

No murders yet, so far just a dishonest banker who has possibly made off with millions of dollars from his bank’s clients. But Koko is predicting a death, so I am anticipating that. Oh, and Braun has broken the golden rule not to kill any pets, as a dog has been shot, and we don’t yet know who the culprit is. I suppose that since the dog is not a main character or a main character’s pet, Braun figured she could get away with it. You have been warned!

It was the first run of the Lumbertown Party Train… No one had any idea it would also be almost its last.
