Artemis Runs Afowl in The Atlantis Complex

I hope you saw Reading for Celiac Disease Awareness last week. If not, take a look at the information and resources attached to that post. Pick up a few books, fiction and non-fiction, to learn more about this autoimmune disorder and the impact it can have on sufferers lives.

Be sure to pop back in this weekend for my new release!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme. Read the rules and more teasers at The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along.

It’s actually a couple of weeks since I read The Atlantis Complex, but the book I read last was pretty much a waste of time, so I am posting a teaser for Atlantis instead.

I have read a couple of other books in Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl series. It is a middle grade fantasy/sci-fi adventure series that is just a lot of fun to read. If you’re looking for an escape for a few hours, this is a great series to get into.

The Atlantis Complex is book 7 in the Artemis Fowl series. In this episode, Artemis is suffering from a fictional dissociative mental illness which makes it difficult for him to manage even his day-to-day activities. The spy/inventor/criminal mastermind who is usually ahead of the game in every instance is really suffering in this installment.

Fun characters, lots of humor and adventure, and a satisfying resolution. Artemis Fowl is always a good choice.

You teenagers are all the same. Let’s see if your generation does any better with the planet.

Eoin Colfer, Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis Complex

Artemis has committed his entire fortune to a project he believes will save the planet and its inhabitants, both human and fairy. Can it be true? Has goodness taken hold of the world’s greatest teenage criminal mastermind? Captain Holly Short is unconvinced, and discovers that Artemis is suffering from Atlantis Complex, a psychosis common among guilt-ridden fairies – not humans – and most likely triggered by Artemis’s dabbling with fairy magic. Symptoms include obsessive-compulsive behavior, paranoia, multiple personality disorder and, in extreme cases, embarrassing professions of love to a certain feisty LEPrecon fairy
