Did you pick up a copy of She Wore Mourning? If so, I hope you are enjoying it! Let me know what you think.
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme. Read the rules and more teasers atĀ The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along.
I just finished Grave PerilĀ (The Dresden Files, Book 3) by Jim Butcher. A very fun read about a smart aleck Wizard fighting evil forces trying to take over the city. Something is stirring up trouble, and he needs to figure out what it is before it destroys him and his friends.
The sign on the door reads, simply, Harry Dresden, Wizard. Just inside the door is a table, covered with pamphlets with titles like: Magic and You, and Why Witches Donāt Sink Any Faster Than Anyone Elseāa Wizardās Perspective. I wrote most of them. I think itās important for we practitioners of the Art to keep up a good public image. Anything to avoid another Inquisition.
Jim Butcher, Grave Peril
Harry Dresdenās faced some pretty terrifying foes during his career. Giant scorpions. Oversexed vampires. Psychotic werewolves. It comes with the territory, when youāre the only professional wizard in the Chicago area phone book.
But in all Harryās years of supernatural sleuthing, heās never faced anything like this: the spirit worldās gone postal. All over Chicago, ghosts are causing troubleāand not just of the door-slamming, boo-shouting variety. These ghosts are tormented, violent, and deadly. Someoneāor somethingāis purposely stirring them up to wreak unearthly havoc. But why? And why do so many of the victims have ties to Harry? If Harry doesnāt figure it out soon, he could wind up a ghost himself…
This is such fun – especially in the earlier books. I really enjoyed it and hope you, too, are finding Dresden’s world fun to visit (wouldn’t want to live there, though!). My TT this week is a historical adventure – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2017/08/01/teaser-tuesday-1st-august-2017/
Now I’m curious, although I’m not usually into “wizardry.” LOL. Here’s mine: āSUNDAY MORNING COMING DOWNā
I think I’d pick up some of those pamphlets! Haha!! Here’s my Teaser for this week: http://bit.ly/2f58jM9
I love the Dresden series. It might be time for a reread. Here are my adult and YA teasers. Happy reading!
