Giving thanks

This Monday is Canadian Thanksgiving. I read a few internet articles talking about the differences between Canadian and American Thanksgiving, besides the obvious difference in dates, of course. There are more similarities than differences between our observances. According to the Wikipedia article, “The theme of the Thanksgiving holiday also changed each year to reflect an important event to be thankful for,” but that has not been the case for almost one hundred years.

As I think about the upcoming holiday, I am thankful for many things in my writing career.

  • wonderful readers who buy books, let me know how much they enjoy them, write reviews, and recommend them to friends
  • family and friends who support me, read my books, and share my posts
  • other authors who give advice and share their wisdom and experience, and join me in cross-promotions
  • the technology and platforms that allow me to publish
  • the talent and experience that I have been given to enable me to write the books I do and the enjoyment I get from writing.

The upcoming Thanksgiving week, be sure to keep an eye on my blog or social networks for some more flash sales!
