Randy’s Review of Apple-achian Treasure

Did you ever go on a treasure hunt as a kid? Do you remember how much fun they were? Do you remember getting excited about every clue? Well, treasure hunter, come on a new adventure with your host P.D. Workman.

Erin isn’t exactly gullible, but she can’t help herself when she finds a cryptic poem that provides clues to finding a treasure. The kid in all of us wants to jump in feet-first; maybe Erin should have listened to the adult in her instead. On top of it all, Erin is starting a new bakery with her newly-discovered half-sister Charley. Charley has quite the history, and trusting Charley is challenging for Erin.

Erin is immediately intrigued by the poem and suckers—I mean invites—Vic and Willy to join her. The treasure hunt turns the whole town into topsy turvy. Of course, Terry, the cop—and even worse, the boyfriend—gives Erin plenty of reasons not to pursue it. Despite Terry’s wishes, Erin moves ahead and causes havoc. When the mob comes walking into the bakery, what has Erin gotten herself into?

Everyone wants to help, but Erin has no idea who to trust. Can Erin trust Vic’s brother Jeremy, who has mob contacts? Beaver, his girlfriend, with a decidedly shady background? Erin is always looking over her shoulder, worrying about what will go wrong next.

The treasure hunt will keep you on the edge of your seat. How far will Erin go to find the treasure? And what will happen to Erin if she continues to search for it?

Will Erin be able to find the treasure? What will happen if Jeremy is working for the mob? And finally, will Terry be able to save Erin? I dare you to pick it up. You won’t be able to put it down.

Erin is back on her feet again with the opening of Auntie Clem’s Bakery version 2.0. But her new partner is not the easiest person in the world to get along with and there are a lot of bumps in the road.

Reading about a secret treasure in Clementine’s papers, Erin decides to distract herself by putting back on her detective hat and she and her friends try their hands at solving the clues. Pretty soon, everyone knows that they are treasure hunting and things get interesting.

The race is on, but is the prize worth the price they will end up paying?

Extremely well written, the best in the series so far, the characters well developed building on the first books in the series.
